The Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 5-7, is considered one of Jesus' most important collections of teachings and has instructed his followers for thousands of years! Though these words may be familiar to us, we return to them again and again for deeper wisdom and a greater understanding of how to live a life of love toward God and neighbor.
Jesus invites his followers to imagine life in God's Kingdom from his perspective. He paints for us a picture of true human flourishing and welcomes us into a new reality where outer obedience flows from profound inner heart change, and humility and compassion are the markers of true disciples.

SPRING 2025
Small Groups are a more personal place for you to get to know others in the life of the church! They are designed to bring people together on a weekly basis to learn, share, and grow. Weekly gatherings involve scripture reading, discussion based on the prior Sunday's sermon, time for fellowship, prayer, and often some tasty treats.
We believe God is calling each of us to experience a deep sense of BELONGING to Jesus, our Church Family, and broader community. If you are looking for ways to connect and grow, getting into a Small Group is a great next step!
February 28 - March 2, 2025
Retreats are designed to get us out of our normal rhythms and spaces and enjoy time with others and with the Lord. We have begun to offer annual retreats for men and women of First Pres as a way to rest, reflect, and renew our spirits. The time with the Lord can feel like a soul care intensive as we trust ourselves to the Holy Spirit, teachers, and friends. The slow pace of the retreats gives us time to connect with others through conversation and lots of fun. Whether you’ve been at First Pres for many years, or you are brand new in the life of the church, we would love to have you join us for a weekend away!
