Noon Time Moments of Peace and Prayer

Hello and welcome to Noon Time Prayer.

This week we will continue to prayerfully read a Psalm each day and then pray for our church, city, country, world, and our own lives. As you pause to pray, maybe you are sitting in your favorite chair alone in your home or maybe you are surrounded by others.  Maybe you are taking a break from homeschooling your kids or caring for a sick family member.  Maybe you have plenty of toilet paper and antibacterial soap, or maybe you are running low on both. Maybe you are feeling lonely and uncertain about the day and world, or maybe you are feeling rested and renewed by the change of pace in your life.  However you are at this moment, may God speak anew to you through His Word and encourage your heart as we pray together from our homes!

OPENING PRAYER

God,

In the quiet moments, we take a breath, pause, and thank You for Your Presence with us.

Calm our hearts, still our minds, comfort our bodies.

Speak to us anew through Your Word.

Bring people and circumstances to our minds that we can lift up to You in prayer.

Renew, guide, convict, and encourage our souls.

We pray this in Jesus name,

Amen.

PRAYERFULLY READING A PSALM

Suggestion for how to pray through each daily Psalm:

Savor the Psalm and all that God wants to speak to you through His Word by reading the passage four times.

As you read each Psalm through the first time, what word or phrase is God drawing to your attention?

During your second reading of each Psalm, pay attention to an emotion or response rising up in you.

As you read the daily Psalm a third time, what invitation or challenge might God be giving you?

During your fourth and final reading, rest in God, who is our Creator, Sustainer, Peace Giver, and constant Companion.
