Dr. David Swanson, Senior Pastor
The Rev. Dr. David D. Swanson is the Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Dr. Swanson received his Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to his arrival in Orlando, he served two pastorates: the first in Signal Mountain, TN as an Associate for both youth ministry and discipleship; the second in Ft. Myers, FL as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff. He and his wife, Leigh, have three children: John David, Alex, and Kaylee.

Dr. Case Thorp

Case leads FPCO’s FaithServes initiative as well as the church’s evangelism and outreach efforts. Originally from Atlanta, Case first served the First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he met and married Jodi Tomlinson. They have three beautiful children, Alexandra, Charles, and Brooks. He has preached internationally from Madagascar to Tajikistan, and revivals stateside. He has served as president of the Christian Service Center, and is a founding board member of both IDignity, a local organization that provides identification to the poor, and The Well, a multi-media ministry. Case’s educational background includes Oxford College of Emory University, Emory University and Princeton Theological Seminary. He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, in missional ecclesiology. Bret Allen serves as Minister of Family Life at FPCO. He is from Winter Park, FL and is a 1983 graduate of Wake Forest University (Go Deacons!). Bret served on Young Life staff from 1989-2005 in Spartanburg, SC. The Allens moved to Orlando in 2005 with Young Life and joined FPCO staff in 2010. He and his wife Kim have four children, Andrew, Anna Bret, David and John. Bret enjoys tennis, golf and ACC basketball.

Mr. Kent Sterchi is the Minister of Discipleship at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. He moved to Orlando from Tennessee when he was 2, and has been here ever since! Kent brings a lifetime of discipleship experience to First Pres; among other things, he previously worked as the Area Director of Christian Leadership Concepts, Discipleship Director of the Gathering of Men, and also as the Evangelism Director here at First Pres from 1993-2000. He has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 30+ years. They have two children, John (married to Kate) and Lindsey (married to Elliott), and three grandchildren.

Dr. Daniel Sharp is the Minister of Worship Arts at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Born and raised on a farm in central Illinois, Dr. Sharp received his Bachelor's degree from Wheaton College, Masters from Drake University, and his Doctor of Musical Arts in Church Music from the University of Southern California. He also studied at Fuller Theological Seminary. Prior to his arrival in Orlando, he served as Minister of Worship in San Diego, Seattle, Newport Beach, and Lexington, MA. He and his wife, Nancy, have two sons: Andrew and Jonathan, who is married to Erin. They have a little girl, Noel.
