YEAR OF THE BOOK

Be a part of this church-wide study of the Bible in one year, beginning January 14, 2017.

Reading the entire Bible in one year, all together? It sounds ambitious, but this big dream is exactly what we’ve got planned for First Pres in 2018. Beginning in January, Dr. Swanson will kick off a year-long sermon series, Year of the Book, following along the Read Scripture reading plan and videos.

What makes this series special is the complete overview of the Bible with Jesus in mind, and the excellent teaching tools that come with it. We’re encouraging small groups to follow along together as we journey through the Year of the Book, and discuss what you’re learning in your daily study and weekly sermons.

Joining in Small Group Study

We're encouraging everyone to follow along with our sermon series using our study questions in their small group. The questions will be printed in the worship bulletin each Sunday, and posted online Monday mornings with the sermon video. (You'll find links to those here, starting in January.)

Two of our Sunday morning classes will be using the questions and following along, and you are invited to join them on Sundays to be part of the discussion.

Crossroads Class, EMC 330A
Servants in the Son Class, EMC 330B

If you don't have a group, our Director of Connecting Ministry, Cameron Hughes can help you find one.

We will also commit to daily study of the Bible using the Read Scripture reading plan, starting on January 14. Download the awesome Read Scripture app through the Apple App Store or GooglePlay, which features the Bible text, teaching videos and even helpful reminders you can schedule for a specific time each day.

Download the App

The app for your mobile phone or tablet gives you all of your daily readings, plus videos in one easy-to-use place. Set reminders to keep on top of your daily plan!
