Message: “The Antidote to Self-Regard"
One of the great ways that God uses our suffering is to make us keenly aware of our human limitations. We tend to think we are in control, that we have the keys to life, but it takes only one moment of pain and or genuine suffering to blow that up and bring us back towards the presence of God.

Message: “The Reality We'd Rather Avoid"
As we enter into the season of Lent, peering more carefully at the sufferings of Christ, it is good to consider the suffering and pain of our lives. It is the reality we seek to avoid by all manner and means, but when we do suffer, it brings that reality home. While the world may say suffering has no meaning, Scripture shows us something wholly different. Our pain has a purpose, and we need to face the realities of suffering IN the presence of God.

Core Values Sermon Series: OUR BEST (Week 6 Mar. 3, 2019)
WEEK 6 | CORE VALUE | OUR BEST
We are perfectly imperfect people. We are sinners through and through but saved by God's grace. Thus, we seek to honor God by doing our best in all we do. Our efforts, our commitment, our faithfulness in every good endeavor speak to His presence in us and the larger purpose of our lives. It is far from perfect, but it is our offering – always to His glory.

Core Values Sermon Series: RELENTLESS GENEROSITY (Week 5 Feb. 24, 2019)
WEEK 5 | CORE VALUE | RELENTLESS GENEROSITY
Generosity in the church is based solely on the lavish nature of God's love for us in Christ. It is matchless – incomprehensible. We are called to model that love in our generosity of life, but especially in our finances.
The Message starts at 29:03

Core Values Sermon Series: GENERATIONAL FAITHFULNESS (Week 4 Feb. 17, 2019)
WEEK 4 | CORE VALUE | GENERATIONAL FAITHFULNESS
One of the true reflections of God's Kingdom at FPCO is her multi-generational nature. The Kingdom is not one group, but "every tongue, tribe, people, and nation," which means every age. Not only that, but our task is to value and learn from the other generations around us. We can ALL contribute to the body as we have seen in this church for 143 years.
The Message starts at 25:13
