Worn Out Praying
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
In Psalm 6, is a phrase that is all too familiar, “I am worn out from groaning.”
You and I are faced sooner or later with those times or situations that simply do not go away in a few hours, or days, or weeks. Those times weigh heavy on our souls. The “end” is not in sight nor is there even an indication of an end.
The psalmist cries, “How long, O Lord, how long?” Our appeal to God’s deliverance is based on His love for us. We believe His love will bring relief. But notice in this psalm (v.9) that the relief comes from knowing the Lord has heard the weeping prayer, has heard the cry for mercy, and that the Lord has accepted the prayer.
In the most difficult of times, remember the Lord always hears. Your prayers never fall on deaf ears. In difficult times remember what is always true; the Lord loves you.
