What's the Difference?
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
We live in a tangled society in which there are those who cry out against injustice and what is wrong. Then there are others who abhor injustice, those things that are simply wrong. Is there a difference between the two?
Think about this. Potiphar’s wife cried out against Joseph in her claim that he tried to violate her. Had that been the case, her crying out would have been true. At the very same time she actually did not abhor injustice at all.
It is possible to cry out in words and at the same time harbor willingness in the heart, to outwardly protest and inwardly embrace. It is the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that enables us to truly abhor sin. Crying out just doesn't do it.
