Veteran's Surge to End Homelessness: Get Trained to Help
Get trained to help find homeless veterans as part of Central Florida's effort to end homelessness.
In collaboration with the local Veteran's Affairs (VA) and Homeless Services Network (HSN), a "surge" outreach initiative will take place to locate every homeless veteran in Central Florida. The "surge" count will take place across the region during the week of July 20.
Over the next couple of weeks, a tremendous effort will be underway to train volunteers and then perform a large-scale community point-in-time count (surge) of homeless individuals with the goal of creating a registry and identifying veterans. Community advocates will lead hundreds of volunteers in this effort to identify homeless veterans in need.
Your participation is needed - join our partners with Rethink Homelessness and the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness as we take action.
Training will take place the week of July 13 in anticipation of the surge the following week. To choose your training session and get involved, visit rethinkhomelessness.org or call 321-710-4663 x2.
