The Emotions in Worship

More Thoughts on Worship: The Emotions in Worship
In His creation, God truly made everyone unique. Part of the uniqueness is expressed in how we respond emotionally to various situations.
Having been in the church for many years and having attended somewhere between 4-5,000 services, I am reminded how very differently people respond in worship. Some people rejoice outwardly. Others rejoice inwardly. Both rejoice. God alone knows the depth and meaning of the emotions expressed.
That we have emotions is part of being made in the image of God. He clearly expresses Himself in regard to His creation. God weeps, He sings, He grieves, He empathizes, He laughs, He gets angry, He loves, He embraces, and so on.
Our God expresses emotion. It is part of who He is. We, along with our Creator, express emotion when we care deeply about something. Let us rejoice in this aspect of being made in the image of God.
