The Afterglow of Easter
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
Can you imagine the buzz around Jerusalem during this week as the news spread that Jesus had risen from the dead?
My guess is that many people thought it was a wishful rumor or His followers were hallucinating. Perhaps His disciples were fantasizing or truly delusional. Other people thought it was just a made-up story or a “conceptual thing,” after all, it is not possible for people to rise from the dead. So they just dismissed this whole resurrection thing and went on with their lives.
Sadly, we are surrounded by a world that views the resurrection of Jesus Christ the very same way. You and I have the opportunity to share the same news the disciples spread. “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”
The glow of Easter morning continues 2,000 years later.
