To Tell a Story
Stories matter. Not only are they powerful testimony of the way the Lord redeems us, but they are also one of the most basic ways we relate to each other--believer or not. Every person is created in the image of God; which means every person has value and their stories matter.
God Himself writes the details of the stories of our lives and it’s worth our time to learn each other’s stories. They remind us of God’s faithfulness to his people. They remind us of the unique ways in which the Lord works in this world and the lives of individuals. They remind us that we are his children and that he cares deeply for each of us. And they teach us to appreciate each other, the good and the bad!
This is a large reason we launched this blog, but it is also the work Tom Mills engages in professionally with Cru as a photographer. Tom and his wife Karen first moved to Orlando in 1991 on staff with Cru when its headquarters moved here from Southern California. Tom travels the world taking photos of Cru ministry work in order for it to be shared with stories in Cru’s international publication. Karen also works with Cru as a graphic artist. Together, the Lord is using their gifts to advance the movement of the Gospel all around the world. Here’s some of Tom’s great work pictured below, and at the following links with Cru:
You can find the Mills in either the 9:45 Genesis or 11:00 traditional service on Sundays (depending on which spouse’s preference wins for the morning 😀) when they’re not traveling. In the meantime, be in prayer for them! Tom recently returned from Mexico photographing the first college campus ministry launched in Mexico City and he needs to edit photos quickly, cutting 10,000 photos down to the best 100. He's also in the midst of planning a trip to Puerto Rico for next month, which is a quick turnaround time. We are so grateful to partner with Tom and Karen as the Lord sends them out from our pews to the nations!
