Stay the Course
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
Have you ever noticed how focused Jesus was during the last week of His earthly life? He did not get pushed off course. In fact, as you read the entirety of John’s gospel, notice how often Jesus comments “My time has not yet come” (John 2:4 for example).
Jesus was in such close communion with His Father, that His timing on everything was perfect. He knew where He stood in what God was accomplishing. His timing did not depend on His circumstances. It depended on His Father’s timing. Jesus’ attitude was not “God will work everything out” or a “whatever happens, happens” mind set.
As you deal with various things in your life today, talk to your Father in heaven and listen for His timing. That is what brings God the greatest glory.
