Speed of Prayer
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
Have you ever wondered why it seems that God often delays in answering prayer?
We've heard the reason is that God wants us to learn patience. Of course this factor is frequently the case. Having said that, this is not always the case. Take the story of Abraham’s servant task.
He was to go to Abraham’s home town and find a wife for Isaac. The servant prayed "I will ask one of the young women of the town to give me a drink from her water jug and if she says, ‘Yes, have a drink and I’ll draw water for your camels too.' Let that woman be the one for Isaac’s wife."
The Scripture records, “Before he had finished praying, he saw a young woman named Rebekah coming out with her water jug on her shoulder." In this case, God answered the prayer before it was completed! Sometimes prayers are answered while you are praying. Keep praying! Genesis 24:12-17
