Pulling weeds has spiritual roots! What???
Saturdays frequently turn into a weed-pulling day. I don’t plant them; they come up on their own! They always have enough water to thrive. They don’t even get diseases. Bugs don’t touch them. Worms don’t eat their roots. God has given me the responsibility to get rid of them. I am to take care of the land, the animals, and the birds. I’m to look after His creation. I am the tenant given the responsibility to look after the house. It is not mine. I do not own it. I am not a permanent resident. I’m only here for a few decades or less. Whether I’m pulling weeds in my landscaping or weeds in my soul, think of the responsibility God has given us?
God takes us seriously! I can say with David, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth?”
