Reformation Sermon Series
A five-part sermon series celebrating the Reformation by looking at the five Solas.
OCTOBER 1 | Sola Scriptura | 2 Timothy 3:14-17
Scripture is at the core of who we are and what we believe. It is God's divine revelation to us, and the Reformation reclaimed it as the center of faith and church life.
OCTOBER 8 | Sola Gratia | Ephesians 2:8-9
In a time when so much emphasis is put on our performance, this doctrine is especially refreshing. Grace, alone, is what allows our salvation. It is in no way dependent on us, which may well be the biggest obstacles for people to overcome in Christianity.
OCTOBER 22 | Solus Christus | Colossians 1:13-18
In Christ alone, we find our salvation, our hope, our future. Christ plus anything is a false gospel. He is completely unique as the God-man, and He stands alone having won for us the victory over sin and death.
OCTOBER 29 | Soli deo Gloria | 1 Peter 4:7–11
This is the definitive doctrine that helps us understand our purpose in life. We are not here for us. We are here to glorify God. When understood, it changes how we work, how we worship, how we relate to others, how we give - it is the defining quality of a truly reformed life.
