Message: Real Grace for Real Sinners
This is the encounter by Jesus with the "sinful" woman who wept at Jesus' feet and wiped them off with her hair. The theme is essentially that grace and forgiveness is needed by both people in the story, the lowliest of sinners (the woman) as well as the most pious among us (Simon the Pharisee). Both are lost in their own way, but Jesus's forgiveness only reaches the one it "shouldn't." So, if we think we don't need the gospel, it means we really, really do. If we know we need the gospel we are in a great spot standing next to the one who is drawn to the lost.
