He is Risen!
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
The First Adam, who represents us, was formed from the dust of the earth. When we die, we return to dust. The Second Adam, Jesus Christ, came from heaven, took on human flesh, died but did not return to dust, and instead He returned to heaven thereby opening the way for the First Adam (us) to live eternally in heaven.
Easter is the confirmation of that transaction. A mortal life takes on immortality. Heaven and earth are eternally joined because of this one, self-sacrifice in time. Just like your life is real, this act of love was not a myth, idealized story, wonderful teaching. It happened in history thereby changing the course of history itself.
