I guess this is the week for the farm. We also had fruit trees in our orchard: apples, pears, peaches, and cherries. I remember on more than one occasion picking out the perfect apple and taking a bite, only to realize while the outside was so beautiful, there was a tiny little hole on the bottom side where a worm made his way into the core and almost into my mouth! Some branches produced those kinds of apples in abundance. We pruned them off and added them to the burn pile.
The core of a person reveals the character and integrity of that person. Sometimes there are parts of our lives that are a little “wormy.” At that point we invite the Vinedresser to prune us that the fruit we bear may be wholesome and healthy.
You are recognized by the fruit you bear. What are you bearing today?
