Easter is Just the Beginning...
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
Many of us may think of Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead as a great and joyous day, which it certainly is. The early church viewed Easter as a season, not just one day.
To be sure, Easter Sunday was celebrated as the great Sunday. But due to its Jewish roots in the Passover, there was a great fifty-day celebration until Pentecost, the second great Jewish festival. Have you ever considered that the great and most significant events in Jesus’ life all came in the context of fulfilling Jewish festivals?
While last Sunday was a very great and glorious day, the joy and result of the Resurrection is as vital and real right now as it was those hundreds of years ago.
The forty days following the resurrection saw Jesus appearing to people at various times. He moved among people here on earth before His Ascension and return to heaven.
He still moves among His people here on earth. Look for where He is moving in your life today.
