Compassion Corner & Coalition Partnership
We are delighted to announce Compassion Corner, one of First Presbyterian Church’s ministries to the homeless community, will reopen on Monday, October 29 in a new location.
Our church is grateful to our partners at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida for hosting the Compassion Corner ministry on their campus at 18 N Terry Ave in downtown Orlando and welcoming us so warmly. We will resume full services to clients beginning this Monday at 8:30am in our own corner of the Coalition. Compassion Corner is currently the only daytime drop-in center in downtown Orlando, giving unsheltered homeless individuals a place to get out of the elements and offering coffee, counseling, Bible study, and social-service referrals. On average, we serve 60 to 80 individuals each day.
We want to encourage First Pres family - if you engage with a member of the homeless community, this is the next best step we offer. Handout cards with maps will be available at the church in the next couple of weeks.
