ARISE AND BUILD UPDATE
The ARISE AND BUILD Campaign continues to be an enormous blessing for our church as additional gifts and pledges arrive. We have now eclipsed $7,001,866 in commitments and unpledged contributions, meaning we only have about $700,000 left to fully reach our commitment goal of $7.7 million dollars!
In addition, we have paid off $1,655,528 of our debt! Specifically, our separation agreement will be paid off in full ($655,528) and we will have made a substantial payment on our building mortgage ($1 million). What a joy to be a part of such a generous church family – thank you!
We've already received $192,000 in our Mission Tithe, from which we've allocated $75,000 to Mission Emanuel in the Dominican Republic for construction of a community center & gymnasium, and $25,000 to the Nehemiah Project for a Madagascar Business Loan Fund for Biblical Entrepreneurship graduates. We are beginning to ARISE AND BUILD!
We are also making progress on our two ministry initiatives: Church Planting and The Center for Faith and Work. Initial conversations have started with City to City, the church planting ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. The purpose of those conversations is to begin identifying the best locations for new plants, plus the timing for identifying pastoral leadership. Regarding the Center for Faith and Work, our leadership team will return to New York for final training in March, and we will begin to host “industry listening groups” over the next six months to hear from people in six major areas: real estate, law, health care, education, public service, stay-at-home parents and arts/entertainment. We want to hear from people engaged in each industry, in order to discern strategies for Kingdom impact while training people in each sector.
For those of you who have not made a pledge or gift, you can still join us. Be part of the team as we prepare for the future ministry of our church; we don’t want you to miss out.
