Thanksgiving Holidays - Church Closed November 23 & 24
When was Thanksgiving first recognized as a national holiday? It has been celebrated as a federal holiday every year since 1863, when, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens," to be celebrated on the last Thursday in November.
Our FPCO church offices will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 to observe the holiday with our families in recognition of all that our heavenly Father has blessed us with. Please know that you are counted among our many blessings! Happy Thanksgiving!
