Baptism Renewal Sunday
Many significant moments will take place in the next few weeks as we share our core values and future vision with the church family on January 27 and beyond. However, our celebration truly begins January 13 with Baptism Renewal Sunday.
We've planned Baptism Renewal Sunday as an opportunity for you to reaffirm the commitment that was made at your baptism, no matter how long ago it was! We’ve set aside this special time in worship for each of us to respond, remember, and recommit ourselves to a life lived by the Spirit.
Rather than being a guarantee of salvation, the Bible presents baptism as an outward sign (the sign of the New Covenant) of your being gathered into the earthly church. We practice infant baptism, like the early church, to demonstrate the gathered covenant family of Jesus Christ in this age. A child’s growth and nurture in the covenant family on earth hopefully leads to one’s confession of faith in Christ later in life.
On this special day in the life of our church, we'll offer baptism for individuals who want to profess their faith in Christ (Romans 10:9-10) and be baptized for the first time to join our covenant family in this celebration of renewal. Our Leadership Team, including our elders, deacons, pastors, and staff are already praying for this day and the work the Holy Spirit will do among us.
If you have questions about Baptism Renewal Sunday, for either yourself or your children, please reach out and contact us. We’d love to discuss it with you!
