Worship and the Family of God
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
The God we worship: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, transcends all cultures.
As you think about it, at any one time, prayers and songs are ascending to God in a multitude of languages and sounds from around the world. Think of the variety of music alone as it was offered in worship through the centuries.
The Resurrection was for all people, in all times, in all cultures, and for all of creation. When we speak of “friends in Christ,” we are not only including those wonderful people all around us, but hundreds and hundreds of people we don’t yet know.
We've experienced many times meeting a brother or sister in Christ from another culture and felt tremendous kinship with them because of Jesus. Christianity has the best and truest picture of humanity at its noblest because the adopted brothers and sisters in Christ have the same Father.
