Those Days After the Resurrection
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
My guess is that many of you are watching the TV series, The Bible A.D.
What is most interesting is that the story takes place in the days immediately after the resurrection of Jesus, painting a picture of what it might have been like for the disciples and the secular leadership.
The Scriptures mention several of Jesus’ appearances to His disciples and His followers. The Bible does not mention, however, that Jesus appeared to any of the leaders who were responsible for His death. Have you ever wondered why? It doesn't mean that He didn't appear to them, but it is curious it is never mentioned.
Perhaps we have a hint in Jesus’ story of the “rich man and Lazarus” Luke 16:19-31. Jesus’ concluding remark was this: “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.” The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the supreme problem for those who will not believe.
