This Week at First Pres
Here's what's going on and coming up at the church. Mark your calendars!
Moms are theologians. Every time your child asks you a question that starts with "Why?" your answer is theological. "Why is the sky blue?" "Why did grandpa die?" "Why is that kid mean to me?" At their core, these are theological questions. Come discover a love for theology that will shape how you answer even the toughest questions.
For more than 3 years, our church has been exploring the intersection between faith and work. This Fall, we'll launch our newest ministry effort to equip you in one of the places you spend the most time: your work.
Micah 6:8 tells us to act justly and to love mercy. What does that look like in our broken world? In this class led by Carol Hafer and local experts, we will look at some real world issues of justice and mercy and how we can respond as Christians. We will have guest speakers to touch on areas such as human trafficking, race relations, and poverty.
Come meet our friends from Madagascar! Join us for lunch, and a brief presentation and discussion about our cross-cultural partnership. Learn more about the country of Madagascar, the Malagasy people, the FJKM Church, our partnership, and how we are working together to use Business to bring transformation to this African Island. Some of our Malagasy Biblical Entrepreneurs will be here to share their personal stories. All are welcome. For details or to reserve your spot, please email Katherine Johnson or call her at 407.423.3441 x1459.
The Christ School is proud to host IROC2's (The Institute for Responsible Online and Cellphone Communication) program, "Public and Permanent." Learn about how to keep your family safe online and gain knowledge to promote the responsible use of digital tools.
A session for all parents and community members will take place on Monday, October 3, from 7:00 to 8:30pm, in Lee Fellowship Hall, at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
