Have you noticed how after the resurrection, the disciples stayed together? They huddled close in the upper room out of fear that first Sunday evening. Those were undoubtedly difficult days immediately following the resurrection. They needed the encouragement and courage to spend time with each other. Jesus entered their midst and encouraged them.
The Christian faith was never meant to be a completely individual thing. We come individually in faith to be part of a community. The Church is community at its core. Every one and every part is essential.
How do you contribute to the community? How connected are you? All of us need, or better yet, are designed to be in fellowship with other followers of Christ. We are built that way by our Father.
Make sure that part of you is being fed. Going to worship once in a while won’t cut it. Make weekly worship with God’s people essential in your life…because it is!
