Serve Day, Every Day
For 5 years, our church has been gathering once or twice a year, as a large group, to serve our community. Serve Day has been a introduction for hundreds of people in our church family to experience serving for the first time.
However, over the years, we’ve seen a need emerge for more frequent, organized opportunities to serve. What if you miss Serve Day? We don’t want six months or a year to go by without giving our church family a clear onramp for volunteering.
We’ve also seen the value of investing more deeply in places we’re working in mission. Greater frequency means more chances for church members to fall in love with a community or cause, and really make an impact over time.
After discussions with our leaders and FaithServes team, we’re ready to take the next step with Serve Day.
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE PLANNING:
More frequent, smaller scale Serve Days.
We’ll start out quarterly, with the hope of growing. We’ll offer fewer projects with more focus on our work and less on creating a big event.
More projects in places where we’re deeply invested.
Serve Day is a great way to get the feel of working with a group or project. We want these experiences to be a launch pad, propelling our church family into serving our community in the places they feel called and challenged.
More agility in planning and creating projects.
Smaller events means the experience is simpler for volunteer team leaders, and gives you more opportunity to invite friends and coworkers, (it’s right after Easter this year, hinthint), and fit it into your schedule.
We’re excited about creating new ways for our church family to light the world. Signup for the next Serve Day opens March 13. Mark your calendar!
