God speaks through you
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
Often our worship on Sunday includes a creed of some sort. As Bret Allen mentioned in one of the services last week, a creed is a concise statement of what we believe as a corporate body. The children of Israel had such a creed called the Shema, that is repeated in synagogues to this day. "Hear, O Israel..." Deut.6:4-8. There are also passages in the New Testament that function in a similar way.
These pericopes stand out because of their concise structure and packed phrases. One such passage is Colossians 1:15-20. The passage begins with "He is the image of the invisible God..." Our God, Who is spirit, became visible! Our God shows Himself in our world in a visible way through you and me. That is likewise amazing!
Be aware as you move through today in your various activities that you can become the hands and feet and voice, as God speaks and acts through you.
