Message: Usury, and the Sin that Detracts from God’s Agenda
October 12, 2014 | Dr. Case Thorp | Nehemiah 5:1-13
“All in.” “Part of the team” “Wholly surrendered” “Signed up” These and many other similar phrases are emphasized in our world because we are often so divided and torn between competing agendas. Today in the book of Nehemiah we see an incredible act of confession and repentance that brought the people of Jerusalem together, to the point of being “all in.”
What are the unstated idols in our community of faith that need confronting, confession, repentance, and celebration?
- Nehemiah got full participation from his people, from the farmers to the nobles. Together they not only rebuilt the wall, but they re-formed their society by refashioning their financial system. Full participation; all in. Are you all in with the Arise and Build Campaign? If not, why not and how could you get your concerns addressed?
