Listening for God's voice
by Dr. Dan Sharp, Minister of Worship
The book of Hebrews begins with “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.” Have you ever thought about that sentence and what all it reveals?
Our God communicates in words, thoughts, in language…our language! And He also communicates with no words at all as His creation speaks out without words (Ps.19:1-4).
He is a God who reveals Himself and what He thinks and desires. At times He goes to great lengths, speaking in a booming voice out of the heavens, as well as using the lips of a donkey!
Sometimes God’s voice is still and small and quiet. Then the writer of Hebrews tells us that God spoke through His Son, Jesus.
Today make a point of listening for God’s voice, in whatever manner it comes to you. We know He wants to speak to you. And if you are around a donkey, be sure to keep your ears open!
