SHINE Children's Ministry

We care about the spiritual formation of our children and want each of them to enter into a personal relationship with Christ. SHINE Children's Ministry is designed to excite, engage, and equip our children (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) to become contagious Christians. Our Wee SHINE Ministry is for children ages birth through pre-kindergarten.

Join us each week to see what God has in store for for your children.

Student Ministry

The First Pres student ministry focuses on middle and high school students, and provides opportunities for students to go deeper in their relationship with God as well as their relationships with others. Most student ministry programming takes places in Allen & Yowell Hall.

Stride (High School): During the school year, high schoolers can come to Stride from 7-8:30pm Wednesday nights, Sunday School from 9:45-10:45am, and a Fall retreat to Eagle Rock in Tennessee. We also offer small groups to nurture and grow even deeper relationships. The summer is an exciting time for our student ministry, with many events throughout the week including a week-long "Fun In the Son" retreat, held in Jekyll Island, GA.

Patricia Gray coordinates the high school programs. Email Patricia with any questions. She's nice.

Tribe (Middle School): During the school year, we offer Tribe Wednesday nights 5:30-7:30pm, Sunday School from 9:45-10:45am, and a Fall retreat to Southwind. We also have small groups available to nurture and grow even deeper relationships. Middle school kids look forward to the week-long summer "Great Escape" retreat held in Tennessee.

Steve Eastwood and Emily Irvine coordinate the middle school programs. Email them with any questions!

FOUR12

FOUR12 is a mentoring and tutoring ministry that serves middle school and high school students from Orlando’s inner city schools. The ministry’s daily program is held after school Monday to Friday until 6pm and follows the Orange County Public School calendar.

FOUR12's Middle School Program is focused on Christian character development, to help students build the character and skills necessary to succeed in school, at home, and in life. Career exploration, stewardship, conflict resolution and programs such as Straight Talk (Bible Studies) and Fun Fridays are included. Tutoring and homework assistance are also offered.

FOUR12’s Student (High School) Leadership Program prepares high school students for college, the work force, and life. This intensive program consists of discipleship training, life skills, community service, retreats, and mission trips.

As a mission of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, FOUR12 is subsidized by church funds but relies mostly on donations and outside support.

MusikGarten

Founded in 1994, MusikGarten is an internationally known, preeminent early childhood music program available to children ages birth through 9 years old. Classes are informal and structured in a way which is age appropriate. Each lesson includes: singing, dancing, playing instruments, listening, and pattern work. All classes are structured as a group setting alongside parents, and expose your child to the many aspects of music. MusikGarten’s founders are strong advocates of extensive training for their instructors, offering support to each center and their leaders, and provide continuing education through monthly newsletters and yearly trainings.

First Pres offers MusikGarten on a semester basis, in the Fall, Spring and Summer.
We facilitate your child’s foundation of basic music skills which are: singing on pitch and keeping a steady beat. Your child learns best through what you model, and our goal is to give each parent the tools to bring music into their child’s life, and ultimately, the family.

To learn more about MusikGarten and upcoming schedules, email Stephanie Rivera or call her at 407.423.3441 x1186.
