Homeless Memorial Service
First Pres Mission Partner IDignity and Homeless Services Network, Orlando FL, calls the community together to honor homeless persons who have died in 2015. The Annual Homeless Memorial Service brings attention to the tragedy of homelessness, creating an opportunity to remember those in our homeless community who have died on our streets.
It is often times the only service our deceased homeless brothers and sisters will have. Names of those who have died in 2015 will be read aloud and a candle will be lit to remember and honor those lives.
This years’ service will be on the Winter Solstice, December 22nd, 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando’s Chapel at 106 E. Church St. Downtown. The public is welcome. Reception will follow.
Homeless Memorial Day, an annual event commemorated in over 150 cities and countries across the United States, is held on the first day of winter.
